Dialogue with contact

Dialogue with contact from Makarand Nazirkar on Vimeo.

Here's a dialogue exercise, but mark wanted to make it special. So he asked us to have the characters make contact with each other while interacting. Here's what I came up with.

Emotion Change

Emotion Change from Makarand Nazirkar on Vimeo.

This is an exercise for emotion change. Mark wanted the character to show a range of emotions. He wanted the audience to be able to see the wheels turning in the character's mind. And to follow the principles of animation nonetheless.

The Itenerary...

Aah, Am I feeling refreshed or what? Went to Niagara Falls, had a rollicking time. Did some extreme stuff, the journey behind the falls was amazing. Standing there feeling the force of nature forces you to see the perspective. The hugeness of the falls is overwhelming.
Got an opportunity to get interviewed for the college weekly. Was a nice feeling to see myself in the newspaper. The acting classes are awesome, got to enact a small piece which we had to come up with in just 5 minutes by looking at a portrait. Sketched some horses and will be going to the Royal Ontario Museum next week to do some more sketching. Also have the Dance Critiques lined up for the week later. Oh! and how can i forget the trip to the Canada's Wonderland on Thanksgiving. All that with the added excitement of finishing the assignments on deadlines is charging up the environment. Splendid stuff happening here at Sheridan. Never thought going back to School would be so much fun.

Floursack Exercise

FlourSack Exercise from Makarand Nazirkar on Vimeo.

This is an Animation Exercise I did at the Sheridan College. Mark really wanted us to stress on the performance of the sack to make it lively and more human, and also following the principles of animation. This is what I came up with hope you like it.

Back to the basics

Well here I am again, after a short break. Had been busy with my preparations for starting my studies at Sheridan. Reached here on 11th Sept, and may I say this is a big... like... BIG country. I am here at the Trafalgar rd. Campus in Oakville, Ontario, and man am I excited for the first day. Of course I am here with my better half (God, I don't know what I would do without her.) But yeah, things are looking good.
Anyways day one was interesting, Mark was great, Got sneak peak into the director's domain, the psyche of a film maker and yeah where the audience stands in the entire film making process. I got to tell you, films are not as easy to make as they are to look at munching on a bag of popcorns. There is a lot that goes behind weaving the magic that happens on the screens of our multiplexes. And there is a lot more that goes behind keeping you glued to your seats throughout the film.
OK, Coming back to the college, got some thorough Life Drawing sessions under the watchful eye of Brian Hladin. And yeah Ed our model for the sessions also needs a special mention. That guy can hold a pose for like forever. Thanks Ed for all your patience as we scribble on the canvas with our charcoal pencils. Oh and Brian was superb too. I like the way he teaches.
That said, I need to get back to my assignments. Well I am super excited to see what lies at the other end of this one year program, but there is also this inner childlike feeling that just doesn't want this year to end. It's such a breath taking experience that I think, I am left with just one question on my mind, as Mark rightfully says "What's gonna happen next?"

The wraps up

Hi,
This is my very first post. Ever had that feeling that you are almost at the end of the runway and not sure whether you'll take off. Well I am currently in the similar situation. Steadily running short of options and with a murky view of the hurdles in my path. But then again a very few and I mean really few lucky ones have their life in a smooth sail.
I can say that I am a believer, I believe in god, I believe in all the good there is in this world, and most of all I believe in myself. I believe time hardens you enough to iron out all the roughs in your way and that life is all about the journey and destiny is just a pit stop.
Well I wish myself luck for the journey to the unchartered.
